Mission Statement: We, the people of the Parish
of Twillingate are called to encourage each other to live fully the Gospel of
Jesus Christ to the glory of God: in our hearts, in our homes, our church family
and in our communities.
About Our Parish
The Parish of Twillingate is made up of five congregations that extend from
Twillingate to Change Islands. Up until Dec.31, 2007 it consisted of six congregations.
The congregation of St. Andrew's, which was also in Twillingate, made the decision
to have the church offically closed at the end of the year. The church will
be deconsecrated on July 6, 2008.
The Parish is made up of 250 families. There are three ACW groups: St. Peter's,
St. Mary's and St. Margaret's. There is one Men's Fellowship Group at the Parish
level(includes 4 of the 5 churches). There is one Sunday School(St. Peter's).
It has a Bible Study Group and a Prayer Group that meet on a regular basis.
Despite the large geographical area that the parish covers, the people come
together on the fifth Sunday of every month(that has five Sundays) for a "Pot
Luck Lunch", fellowship and worship in one church -on a rotation basis.
The Parish is experiencing much spiritual and financial growth.
